What 2018 taught me.

Image
Hoy se acaba el 2018.  Thank God . Not being okay is okay. Cuándo te preguntan si estas bien, ¿Qué contestas? Estoy cansada, tengo hambre, me duele la cabeza, etc. Pero nunca aceptamos que nos pasa algo, no estamos bien . (Sorry for disappointing you Benito) No estar bien, no es nada malo. Llorar está bien. Aceptar que necesitas ayuda está bien. Lo que no está bien es reprimi

Glossier Solution : Is it worth it?

Image
Solution  ($24) dropped at the beginning of the year and has since appeared in many beauty and skincare blogs and magazines, but is it worth your time and money? Directly off Glossier's website; " Unlike physical exfoliators that scrape off the surface of your skin, Solution gently  sloughs dead cells away through chemical exfoliation, ungluing the problematic dead cells hiding and clogging healthy skin beneath. With daily use, expect cleared acne and blackheads, smaller pores, and reduced redness. Skin’s texture will be smoother and softer, and the fabled glow of balanced, healthy skin will be in full force. " Solution contains a particular 10% blend of three acid groups: Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA), Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA), and Polyhydroxy Acid (PHA). Before I talk about my rendezvous with Solution, lets talk  about the packaging.  Glossier is known for having adorable  packaging, which draws all of us in. This one in particular is full baby pink and gl

How to know your skin type

Getting to know your skin:  The first step to finding your perfect cleanser, is getting to know your skin type. There are three main categories and three sub categories it can fall into, luckily there's a really easy way to find out which one that is.  Wash your face with some water and dry it off. Wait an hour and place a tissue on your forehead, nose and cheeks.  Now there are some additions to these three basic types. The three subcategories are sensitive, combination and acne prone. These are quite self explanatory but just so you can be sure, here's what to look for: -   sensitive skin  reacts badly to a lot of products and gets irritated easily -   combination skin  is a mix between all three basic types (meaning some parts are oily while others are dry or normal) -   acne prone  skin is easily clogged and gets blemishes very frequently.  So now that you've identified your skin type, you can alter your skincare routin

The best makeup hack for oily skin!

Image
I'm always looking for ways to improve my makeup game, and one of the things I do most is try out hacks I find online. With the Internet full of  diys and tips to help with your makeup, there's no excuse for not getting the most out of your makeup on the daily. There's a hack for everything out there! Out of the many that have exited me but immediately disappointed me when put to the test, only one has really surprised me and stayed in my routine.
And it's no surprise, since Aunt Jackie (@jackieaina) put me on it and I trust her with my LIFE. Jackie Aina  is a Nigerian-American YouTube  star and Makeup Artist .
I'll just get right to it because I know y'all dying to know. This might sound weird but, have you ever considered putting POWDER after primer and before foundation? How to choose the perfect cleanser for your skin

Cleansing is the first and most important step in your skincare routine. It gets rid of all the dirt and grime of the day and preps your skin for the next steps.
